UPDATE: Suspect arrested in BB&T Bank robbery

Dunedin, Florida -- Detectives have arrested a 52-year-old St. Petersburg woman for robbing the BB&T Bank on Main Street in Dunedin Thursday morning. 

According to reports, locals in the area found and handed over evidence that lead investigators on the case to identify their suspect as Renita Mount Rayner.

Undercover officials were able to track Rayner down at a local Save-A-Lot store, and keep her there until Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies arrived to the scene.

Miles For Men Prostate awareness race Saturday

Clearwater Beach, Florida -- The Miles for Men Prostate cancer awareness run will start 6:30 p.m. Saturday, September 7, at Morton Plant Hospital.

The 10k race will follow a course north on south Fort Harrison to downtown and across the Memorial Causeway bridge to the beach marina and back. The 5k race turns around on the beach side of the causeway bridge.

Foster questions MLB's commitment to Tampa Bay

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida -- Mayor Bill Foster, in a memo to City Council this week, says he doesn't believe Major League Baseball has any intention of assisting the city and Tampa Bay Rays in reaching a mutually-beneficial solution to building a new stadium. 

In fact, Foster also says he doesn't think MLB seems "interested in a cooperative effort to keep the Rays in the Tampa Bay region for the long term."

Jarvis Stewart named Player of the Week

Largo, FL - Largo Packers running back Jarvis Stewart is the 10 News Sports Player of the Week.

Last Friday in the Packers season opener, Stewart scored five rushing touchdowns, leading Largo to a 46-0 win over Northeast.

Head coach Rick Rodriquez said the senior running back not only had a big game on offense, but on defense as well.

"He's a special player, offense and defense. He played well on both sides, but scoring five TD's, that's special for him and the team."

Kids can help design and create their dream playground

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- The Tampa Bay Rays, Citizens Alliance for Progress, Inc. and organizers from KaBOOM! need some young inspiration to help design a new playground at the Union Academy Family Center.

Organizers are asking kids to put crayon to paper and draw their dream playground. Elements from those drawings will be incorporated into the final design for the new playground which will be built in November at the Union Academy Family Center. Currently the center has no playground.
