Mainsail Arts Festival seeks more volunteers | Arts & Culture
Saint Petersburg, Florida -- The 37th Annual Mainsail Arts Festival is still in need of a few more volunteers on April 21 and 22 – especially groups to staff the beer concessions on each shift both days in Vinoy Park. Organizers announced that 37 more volunteers are needed on Saturday and 34 on Sunday.
Some slots are also available for T-shirt and poster concession booths and soda stands, but most vacancies are in the beer concessions both days. Volunteers at the beer or wine trucks are limited to one shift per day and must be at age 21 years or older.
For three beer trucks, the shifts and times with the most slots to fill are:
- Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Saturday 2 to 4 p.m.
- Saturday 4 to 6 p.m.
- Sunday 10 a.m.to 12 Noon and
- Sunday 2:30 to 5 p.m.
The best way to register is online at www.mainsailartsfestival.org. Just click on Volunteers on the left menu and complete the Volunteer Registration Form. Volunteers can select from one of the locations, days and times that are listed above. The screen should show where there are still openings.

Vinoy Park is located at Bayshore Drive and Seventh Ave. NE, on St. Petersburg’s downtown waterfront. Paid parking is available at the BayWalk and SouthCore garages and Pier lots. Free Event Shuttles will run from 1st St. & Central Ave. and from Pier's Dolphin Lot to Vinoy Park (Sat. 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.; Sun. 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.).
Named among the “100 Best Fine Art and Design Shows” in the nation, Mainsail attracts 250 professional artists from throughout the U.S. and Canada. This year, artists from 31 states as well as Ontario will be exhibiting their original art work for sale (or commission) in Ceramics, Digital, Fibers, Glass, Graphics, Jewelry, Metals, Mixed Media, Oil/Acrylic, Photography, Sculpture, Watercolor and Wood.
Admission to the show is free. The two-day show also features entertainment both days beginning at Noon, a Young at ARt student show, the Junior League Kids Create crafts tent and a Culinary Arts food court. Mainsail is sponsored by the Tampa Bay Times, Cadillac, city of St. Petersburg, Junior League of St. Petersburg and Clear Channel Outdoor.
