Clearwater, Florida -- The Clearwater Main Library will host the Greater Clearwater Community Woman's Club's 20th Annual Evening with the Author on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.

The event will feature Tampa Bay Times investigative journalist and author Craig Pittman who will be on hand to highlight his latest novel, The Scent of Scandal. Copies of the book will be for sale.

The book, based on a real-life incident at Selby Gardens in Sarasota, Fla., shows that an obsession can outweigh all sense of propriety, and lead to breaking the law in pursuit of one's ends.

More information about Pittman and his book is available at www.craigpittman.com.

A $25 per person donation is suggested and includes light hors d'oeuvres, desserts, wine and a chance to win one of several door prizes. A $50 donation will designate the donor as a patron, including all of the above plus a listing in the program. Advance reservations are encouraged.

Additional sponsors for the event include: the Tampa Bay Times; ProVise Management Group, LLC; the City of Clearwater; and Caladesi Construction Co.

Proceeds will benefit the Clearwater Library Foundation and programs of the Clearwater Public Library System.
