Garden & Grape kicks off fundraising event today | Arts & Culture
Clearwater, FL -- Garden & Grape is the kick-off 2011 fundraising event ushering in the 15th annual Bayfront on Vine season.
Garden & Grape will provide attendees with a unique dining experience to ignite the palate and imagination as six local chefs, including Chefs Cathleen Ryan and Tyson Grant, literally bring their kitchens to the field.
On-site, chefs will prepare a lovely "Slow Food" six-course meal, featuring the freshest of local ingredients - and complete with fine wines - served in the charming greenhouse overlooking the garden at Gateway Organic Farm.
Guests will enjoy fresh-from-the-garden, sustainable foods and learn about the emerging philosophy of "Slow Food", which emphasizes food that not only tastes good, but also does no harm to our environment or promote cruelty to animals.
The event takes place today, Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. at the Gateway Organic Farm, 6000 150th Ave. N., in Clearwater.
The 2011 Bayfront on Vine season is comprised of a series of smaller, intimate fundraising events that culminate in the Main Event fundraiser, which will be held on at the Bayfront Medical Plaza on February 5.
The Bayfront on Vine Main Event will feature dining fare provided by more than 20 of the area's celebrated chefs as well as showcase numerous unique, fine wines and beers.
All Bayfront on Vine event proceeds will be used to purchase life-saving diagnostic technology for the James Heart Center at Bayfront Medical Center.
All events are open to the public. For more information call (727) 893-6948 or visit www.bayfrontonvine.org.
