Business input sought at "Jobs Creation Summit"

Clearwater, Florida - State lawmakers have scheduled a "Jobs Creation Summit" this month to get ideas from businesses on how to create more jobs and attain job stability.

The event will be held Friday morning, Jan. 21 at the St. Petersburg College EPI Center at 13805 58th St. N. in Clearwater.

State Sen. Jack Latvala and Reps. Ed Hooper, Jim Frishe, Jeff Brandes and Larry Ahearn want to hear from businesses before the bill filing deadline for new laws for the 2011 Legislative Session.

"Every person elected to office in 2010 campaigned on the theme of creating more jobs. This is a prime opportunity for us to hear from businesses on how we can better serve them," Senator Latvala stated.

"No one can create jobs better than those who are actively engaged in the business community," Latvala stated. "We want these business people to tell us what the state can do for them or what impediments to job creation the Legislature can eliminate either temporarily or permanently."

Business owners interested in attending the session and adding their ideas are asked to contact Senator Latvala's office by email.
