'Prepare to Survive' with Pinellas County’s eSeries | Business
With the start of a new hurricane season comes a new educational initiative from Pinellas County. The 15-minute eSeries: Prepare to Survive allows residents the opportunity to go in-depth on a particular hurricane preparedness topic such as forecasting, building codes, yard preparation, etc.
Join host Tom Iovino as he interviews Lynne McChristian of the Insurance Information Institute to discuss different types of insurance available, how homeowners can lower their premiums and how the claims process works. The eSeries format allows residents to ask questions through the online blog feature.
Viewers can participate in and see the program by visiting www.pinellascounty.org/eseries. The program will also be simulcast on PCC-TV (Bright House Channel 622, Knology Channel 18 or Verizon Channel 44) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1.
“With busy schedules and other commitments, it’s not always easy for people to attend one of our hurricane preparedness talks,” said program host and hurricane preparedness spokesperson Tom Iovino. “We hope that Prepare to Survive allows us more opportunities to reach out to residents and help them make storm preparations.”
Look for upcoming e-Series: Prepare to Survive presentations on the first Monday of each month throughout the hurricane season.
