Clearwater, FL -- The welcome mat is out on Clearwater Beach for Phillies fans in town for spring training.


The city has heralded the return of the team with banners along Memorial Causeway between downtown and the roundabout.


The usual fan-friendly establishments - The Palm Pavilion, Frenchy's restaurants and Bob Heilman's Beachcomber - may be the more popular haunts for the annual visitors, but others have joined in the mix.

Largo, FL -- The Largo City Commission announced they are establishing a new initiative to make Largo one of the most business friendly communities in Pinellas County.


The emphasis of this initiative will be to significantly improve customer service in the areas of development review, regulation, and permitting, with a focus on small business.


Initiatives that will be implemented immediately in order to create the right environment for all businesses that wish to locate in the City of Largo include:

Pinellas Park, Florida -- The Pinellas Park Gateway Chamber is presenting "Selling in the New Normal" as part of their ongoing Success in Business series.

The two-hour lunch & learn training session will take place on Thursday, Feb. 24 inside Room 202 at the Park Station, 5851 Park Blvd.

"Selling in the New Normal" begins at 11:30 a.m.

Largo Chamber offering free business counseling

Largo, Florida - The Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce announced it is hosting free business counseling services provided by SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives).

The classes will be held at its offices, 151 3rd St. NW, Largo, 33770, by appointment every first and third Thursday of the month.

SCORE counselors represent working and retired business executives who volunteer their lifetime experience providing assistance for people looking to start a business and for owners/managers of existing businesses.

Once again, the counseling sessions are free.  Appointments can be made by calling (727) 584-2321.

'Branding Your Business' seminar hits Seminole

Seminole - How do your customers see your business? Is your image portraying what the business sells or offers?

The Greater Seminole City Chamber of Commerce is offering a free seminar for business-minded people on Wednesday, Feb. 9. Advertising specialist Dale Hutchings will be offering ideas on "branding" your business effectively and creatively.

To check out the best ideas on how to brand your business, just show up to the St. Petersburg College Seminole campus TLC building, room 108.

The seminar will run from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.
