Tampa, Florida -- Bob Patrick, head of the Veterans History Project of the Library of Congress (VHP), is traveling to Tampa/Clearwater to call upon the public to help record the firsthand remembrances of area veterans July 27 - 28.

VHP is launching a special coordinated effort in west central Florida due to the high concentration of veterans in the area.

The public is asked to join Patrick on Saturday, July 28 for "Honor Our Veterans" at Suncoast Hospice, The Gathering Place, located at 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard in Clearwater, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. (registration starts at 9:15).

The event will be hosted by Suncoast Hospice, Support the Troops, and The Veterans History Project in support of Honor Flight of West Central Florida.
