Kids can help design and create their dream playground

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- The Tampa Bay Rays, Citizens Alliance for Progress, Inc. and organizers from KaBOOM! need some young inspiration to help design a new playground at the Union Academy Family Center.

Organizers are asking kids to put crayon to paper and draw their dream playground. Elements from those drawings will be incorporated into the final design for the new playground which will be built in November at the Union Academy Family Center. Currently the center has no playground.

Kids are invited to stop by the Union Academy Family Center at 401 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from 4:00-5:00pm on Thursday, Sept. 5 to design their dream playground.  A meeting with volunteers participating in planning for the playground will be held from 5:00-7:00pm.

The new playground will provide more than 300 children in the Tarpon Springs community with a safe place to play. It will be the fourthy built by the Rays and KaBOOM! in the Tampa Bay area and one of more than 150 playground builds that KaBOOM! will lead across the country in 2013.
