Gulfport, Florida -- Urged on by community service organization Gulfport Neighbors, the City of Gulfport will waive its fees for large-item pickup this Saturday only – provided residents bring the trash to the Gulfport Neighborhood Center.

For the first time ever, Gulfport will partner with the Gulfport Neighbors to allow residents only to dispose of unwanted items for free this coming Saturday. From 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., Gulfport residents can bring most unwanted items (with certain exceptions, below) to the Gulfport Neighborhood Center at 9999 49th Street for disposal, swap, or sale.

“The Junk in the Trunk is a great way to get rid of stuff for free,” Gulfport Neighbors board member Margarete Tober said. “People are always complaining about the fees the city charges–so this is an alternative.”
