Pedestrian in St. Pete hit and run identified, new info on car
St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Petersburg Police are looking for a car that hit and killed a pedestrian early Sunday morning.
Police say a little after 3 a.m., a man -- identified Wednesday as 24-year-old Michael Sproul -- was hit by a car described by witnesses as a newer model, black Chevrolet Impala near the north crosswalk at the intersection of 5th Avenue South and 4th Street.
Police say it appears the car tried to stop, but hit Sproul, sending him onto the hood and into the windshield before being projected onto the pavement. The vehicle then left the scene.
