Search for shooting suspect continues, victim identified | Crime
Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Police identified the victim of a shooting that took place on the 400 block of Grand Blvd. as 53-year-old John Stavrakis.
Reports indicate that John and his brother Phillip Stavrakis were gathered with their family today after their father's funeral last night, when the two began to argue.
Police say the argument took place in or near Phillip's attached apartment when Phillip pulled out a gun and shot his brother multiple times.
Reports indicate that one of the shots hit john in the abdomen. He was able to make it back to their mother's nearby home, where relatives called 911.
John is now in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center, say police.
Officers continue to search for the suspect, 54-year-old Phillip Steve Stavrakis.
They say Phillip was observed by witnesses leaving the area in a 1999 Silver Cadillac, FL Tag: 806 MGR.
