Detectives investigate 6th arson in St. Pete neighborhood | Crime
St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police detectives are questioning suspects in connection with a string of arsons in the Causeway Isles area.
Thursday night's fire is the sixth the neighborhood has seen in the last 15 months.
Investigators say someone broke into a vacant home in the 100 block of 79th Street South around 8 p.m. and set fire to the furniture. This is the third arson fire reported at this same home. The last ones occurred on Sept. 4 of last year and Jan. 2 of this year.
In this fire, the damage to the home is estimated at $5,000.
Detectives say no one was seen going to or leaving the home and they are still seeking information which may lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved in these incidents.
