Murder suspect sought in St. Pete gas station shooting

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police detectives are asking for the public's help finding a man wanted in the murder of a man at a BP gas station on Oct. 4.

Detectives have issued a warrant charging 20-year-old Damon Danterius Ford with the first degree murder of Caleb Scott.

Detectives say surveillance video from the gas station on the night of the murder shows Scott exchange words with a man as he walks into the store. While standing in the doorway, Scott turns back to face the man and they continue to exchange words. Then, the man pulls out a gun and shoots Scott multiple times in the chest.

After the shooting, the man, and a woman who was with him, ran from the area.

Ford is described as 5'7" with a slim build, clean shaven with a dreadlock hairstyle. He has tattoos "D Ford" on his left forearm, "Trap" on his right arm, "Problem" on his right hand and "Solver" on his left hand.
