Former employee returns to rob Sweetbay

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Police say a former employee of the Sweetbay Supermarket on S. Pinellas Avenue made a return to his old place of business, to rob it.

Tarpon Springs Police say on Dec. 10 two men entered the grocery store at about 9:35 p.m., trying to conceal their identity. While one of them served as lookout, the other approached the customer service desk with a note demanding money, and threatened to harm the employee if the money wasn't handed over.

The employee handed the man $1,700 in cash and the two suspects fled on foot toward the Pinellas Trail.

The clerk recognized the suspect who demanded the money as a former employee Sean Lawrence Wiseley.

Detectives got an arrest warrant for Wiseley and found him on Dec. 14.  Detectives say he confessed to his part in the crime and is being held in the Pinellas County Jail on a robbery charge.

Detectives are still trying to identify the second suspect.
