Motorist charged with DUI in Jolley Trolley crash | Crime
Clearwater Beach, Florida -- A Tampa man has been charged with causing a crash involving the Jolley Trolley on Memorial Causeway over the weekend.
Police say Amir Mevlud Iljazi, 28, of Tampa, was leaving the beach at a high rate of speed and sideswiped the trolley also traveling eastbound near Island Way. Iljazi then lost control, crossed the media and struck a westbound car head on.
Iljazi was charged with DUI involving property damage and booked into the Pinellas County jail Saturday night. He bonded out of jail early Sunday morning.
