Man charged with stalking 15-year-old boy

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Deputies have arrested a 62-year-old man on charges he offered $100 to a 15-year old boy for sex, the sheriff's office said.

Walter L. Price of 67th Street North, St. Petersburg is accused of aggravated stalking and one count of lewd and lascivious conduct.

Deputies say the boy told them he was riding his bike through a parking lot on 66th Street North on December 13th when the suspect approached him in a vehicle and offered to pay him $100 in exchange for a sex act.

The boy became scared and tried to get away, but Price continued to circle the area, trying to find the boy, deputies said. When the boy thought Price was gone, he left a store and ran to a friend's house, but the suspect continued to follow him.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- A woman was seriously injured in an overnight accident in St. Pete.

Police say a Honda driven by 46-year-old Kevin Bailey was driving on 38th Avenue North and made a left turn onto 33rd Street North.  Bailey did not yield to right-of-way traffic and his vehicle was t-boned by a Toyota in the oncoming lane.

A front seat passenger in Bailey's car, 39-year-old Nicole Guarino, was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the Toyota, 37-year-old Glen Parker, fled the scene on foot. He was apprehended by police a short distance from the accident scene.

Both drivers are facing charges; Bailey has been charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked and causing serious injury, while Parker is charged with driving while license is suspended or revoked and leaving the scene of a crash with injuries.

Saint Pete Beach, FL - After viewing a suspected narcotic transaction that took place in a 2002 red Jaguar at 10:53 p.m. on Friday night, the Saint Pete Beach Police Department approached the vehicle, which was parked on Coquina Way just north of the intersection at Corey Avenue, and attempted to apprehend Bryton M. Dunbar.

At this time, Dunbar attempted to flee the area by driving backwards away from the officers.  The defendant subsequently lost control of the vehicle and struck a second floor steel support beam located at 635 Corey Avenue, St. Pete Beach, then subsequently struck the Cosmo Condominium Complex located at 7338 Coquina Way, St. Pete Beach.

Two men arrested on child pornography charges

Dunedin, Florida - Two Bay area men 44-year-old David Rojas of Dunedin and 43-year-old John Martin of  Wesley Chapel are charged with two counts of creating child pornography and both have access to children on and off the job.

Deputies learned about the alleged sexual abuse last Tuesday when one of the victims told her mother and she reported it to law enforcement. The Attorney General's Office says both men intoxicated the teenage girls and drugged them. The men allegedly had the girls perform sexual acts and recorded the girls. One instance reportedly happened at La Quinta Inn in Tampa.

David Rojas, football coach of the Dunedin Junior Falcons, has reportedly worked with kids for 14 years and is vice president of the Suncoast Youth Football Conference. The Attorney General's Office also says Rojas is also a referee for high school football in Pinellas.

Largo, Florida -- Registered sex offender Robert Smith is in custody after video shows him touching several girls in a Valrico Walmart on East Brandon Blvd. Saturday afternoon.

Just after 3:00 p.m. Monday, the Largo Fire Department requested back up in dealing with a homeless person at the Largo Municipal Golf Course on Vonn Road.

The person appeared to have self-inflicted injuries, and was transported to a local hospital.  Upon arrival, Largo Police identified the man as Smith.

Smith was wanted out of Hillsborough County after detectives reviewed surveillance video from Walmart and say Smith is seen touching at least six young girls on the buttocks and then walking away. An 11-year-old victim's father saw the suspect touch his daughter and confronted him.

'Hiccup Girl' appears at pre-trial hearing

Clearwater, Florida -- Accused killer Jennifer Mee -- also known as the "hiccup girl" -- was back in court today.

Today was Mee's pre-trial hearing.  She is accused of luring 22-year-old Shannon Griffin to a house in Saint Petersburg, where he was robbed and shot three times in the chest.

A judge has now set a March 16 trial date for the 19-year-old Mee, who faces murder charges.

Mee appeared on several national TV shows when she suffered from weeks of hiccup spasms in 2007.

Largo, FL - Largo resident, Philip Raymond Pancoast, is sentenced to 30 years in prison today for attempted robbery and possession of an explosive device and a hoax bomb.

According to Largo Police Department Lt. Mike Loux, on January 20, 2010, Sergeant Keith Barton of the Largo Police Department stopped a subject riding a bicycle behind Keene Plaza at East Bay Drive and Keene Road. It was 4:00 a.m. and the subject did not have a working tail light on his bicycle.

The subject (later identified as Philip Pancoast) was wearing long pants, a hooded sweatshirt pulled tight around his face and had a back pack on. Pancoast refused to stop for the officer and fled on foot.
