Cops: Man kills cellmate at Pinellas County Jail

Pinellas County, Florida -- A man incarcerated at the Pinellas County Jail has been charged with murdering his cellmate early Sunday morning.

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said there's never been a murder at the jail before until 28-year-old Scott Greenberg violently attacked and killed 49-year-old Kelly Harding.

Gualtieri said deputies found Harding on the ground in cardiac arrest just before 1:00 a.m. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead at 2:35 a.m. 

Deputies: 1 taken to hospital in Clearwater shooting

Cleawater, Florida -- Pinellas Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred late Sunday night in unincorporated Clearwater.

Deputies say one person was shot near Ridge Avenue and taken to a local hospital.

Locker thefts at Sand Key condo

Clearwater Beach, Florida - Police are urging Sand Key residents to take steps to secure their property following thefts at a condo in the 1200 block of Gulf Boulevard.

Several laundry room lockers on several floors were forcibly entered last weekend and property was removed from three of them, police said..

"If you have an outside locker or other storage for your condominium unit, please take the time to ensure it is properly secured," police said in a Watch Group Alert.

Public's help needed to locate double murder suspect

Clearwater, Florida -- Clearwater Police believe they know who brutally killed a mother and 2-year-old son -- they just haven't been able to find him.

Investigators say they've been looking for Gilberto Juarez-Hernandez since October 2012 after a bloody fingerprint identified him as a suspect.

Woman charged in horrific case of husband's neglect

Pinellas Park, Florida -- Pinellas Park Police arrested a woman accused of neglecting her husband who has been bedridden since January.

Police say Sharon Tillman neglected her husband, Gregory, for so long he had maggots, an open wound to the bone on his leg, and bed sores on his body. Tillman was hospitalized in January after reportedly suffering a spider bite that left him bedridden.

When he was recently taken to Largo Medical Center medical personnel called police and DCF to investigate how his injuries became so severe.

Ex-UF linebacker arrested for leaving tot in car while at strip club

Redington Beach, Florida -- A former University of Florida linebacker was arrested for child abuse after police say he left a 3-year-old girl in his car alone while he went into a strip club.

Deputies say when they got to the scene, the child's grandparents were already there and had removed the child from the vehicle. 

An investigation revealed 41-year-old Monty R. Grow of Redington Beach had driven the car into the Drive Time parking lot and left the girl unattended in the vehicle while he went inside the Diamond Dolls strip club around 9:48 p.m. Sunday.

How to avoid robo call scams

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Sheriff's Office has received at least a dozen calls from Pinellas residents this week advising that they are receiving an automated call asking for personal information, ie: a credit card number and/or bank account number.

According to the Sheriff's Economic Crimes Unit - the robo calls in some instances advise the person that his/her credit card has been disabled and directs them to enter their credit card or bank account numbers in order to reactivate.
