Arrest in meth lab bust at Treasure Island condo

Treasure Island, Florida -- The Pinellas Sheriff's Office and Treasure Island Police Department are investigating what appears to be a meth lab at a home on Sandy Hook Road. 

31-year-old Phillip Blake Pike was arrested after he voluntarily walked out of the condo he'd been holed up in for about five hours.

Woman sexually battered at Largo park

Largo, Florida -- Largo Police detectives are asking for the public's help locating or identifying a man accused of attacking a woman at a Largo Park Monday evening.

Police say the woman, in her 60's, was approached when she was in the southwest corner of Taylor Park on 8th Avenue SW by a black man between 20 and 25 years old around 5 p.m. She said he then forced her to a secluded area where he sexually battered her.

Arrest made in puppy theft, 2 others still sought

UPDATE: The puppy has been found, and a second suspect arrested.

Largo, Florida -- Largo Police say they have found the woman involved in the theft of a special needs Chihuahua puppy from a Largo Petland store.

Neighbor dispute results in man's death

Lealman, Florida -- A man is in jail for murder after police say he killed his neighbor during a fight over noise issues Wednesday.

Investigators say the two men got involved in an argument that turned physical in front of Lot 1 in the Sunshine Mobile Home Park on 46th Avenue North.

At some point during the fight, police say James Ellul grabbed a large knife and stabbed Jerold Lester, Jr. multiple times in his side. Lester's girlfriend tried to break up the fight and was also stabbed in the arm by Ellul.

Pair steals puppy for Largo Petland store

Largo, Florida -- The owner of a Largo Petland store is offering a $250 reward for the return of a puppy that he says was stolen from his store.

The owner says the Chihuahua puppy weighs less than two pounds and needs special care.

He told 10 News the woman took the dog while the man distracted the manager.

Teen mistaken for intruder shot inside his home

Seminole, Florida -- Pinellas County detectives are investigating what appears to have been the accidental shooting of a teen who was mistaken for an intruder when he returned home Sunday night.

Investigators say the 17-year-old boy left his home on Anchorage Circle around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, without telling his caregivers. When he returned home shortly before midnight, his caregiver -- 55-year-old James Wolf -- was getting ready to go to sleep and had turned off all of the lights to the home.

Office of Consumer Protection promotes anti-fraud awareness

Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County Office of Consumer Protection is participating in International Fraud Awareness Week through Saturday, Nov. 9, as an official supporter to promote anti-fraud awareness and education.

“While prevention and detection is a year-round endeavor, International Fraud Awareness Week shines a spotlight on fraud and supporters of the campaign demonstrate their understanding that spreading awareness is key in combating the global fraud threat,” said James D. Ratley, president and CEO of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
