Murder suspect sought in St. Pete gas station shooting

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Pete Police detectives are asking for the public's help finding a man wanted in the murder of a man at a BP gas station on Oct. 4.

Detectives have issued a warrant charging 20-year-old Damon Danterius Ford with the first degree murder of Caleb Scott.

School IT worker arrested for pawning laptop and tablets

Gulfport, Florida -- A Pinellas school district IT technician was arrested this week after police discovered she pawned two iPads and a laptop that belonged to the district.

Deputies say in January and March, 37-year-old Angeleta Washington pawned the computers assigned to Boca Ciega High School and Gulfport Elementary. As part of her job, Washington had access to a master key to schools. 

She was arrested Thursday on several charges of grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

Man linked to another homeless murder

Clearwater, Florida -- Clearwater Police detectives say they have linked the man charged in the shootings of two homeless men in Tarpon Springs with the slaying of another in Clearwater last month.

Jury finds Hiccup Girl guilty of first degree murder

CLEARWATER, Florida - After four hours of deliberations, a Pinellas County jury found Jennifer Mee guilty of murder in the first degree. A judge sentenced her to life in prison.

In closing arguments, the prosecution painted Jennifer Mee as not the mastermind of murder, but a willing participant in an attempted robbery that ended in the death of a 22-year-old victim.

"She was the bait," said prosecutor Jan Olney pointing directly at Jennifer Mee. "She was the bait that lured Shannon Griffin to a back alley that was dark where two of her cohorts waited."

Police investigate stabbings in Largo

Largo, Florida -- Pinellas Sheriff's deputies are investigating the stabbings of three people in Largo Sunday night.

Detectives say two people -- Jeffrey Laforge, 28, and his girlfriend, Amy Wilson, 30 -- are both recovering from life-threatening injuries at Bayfront Medical Center. They were found at a home in the 6400 block of 146th Avenue around 11:18 p.m.

During that same time, deputies also responded to a home less than a mile away in the 6200 block of 142nd Avenue where 23-year-old Andrew Fronczak was found suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds.

Fan arrested after grabbing Rays mascot at Red Sox game

St. Petersburg, Florida -- A fan was arrested after police say he grabbed Raymond the Tampa Bay Rays mascot at Wednesday night's Rays-Red Sox game.

St. Pete Police say Trevor Martin, who is from Massachusetts, twice reached over the railing and grabbed Raymond around the neck and pulled him back toward the railing.

Witnesses -- which included several Tropicana Field employees and fans -- said Raymond had to push Martin off of him to break free from his grasp.

Man charged in woman's death at Clearwater home

Clearwater, FL -- Clearwater Police have charged a man with the first-degree murder of his former roommate whose body was found early Thursday morning.

Police investigating the woman's death learned this morning Paul Denk had been living with 54-year-old Amy Arnold at her home in the 1100 block of Turner Street for the past three months after moving to Clearwater from Kansas.
