St. Petersburg, Florida -- Starting May 4, you can start the summer off with an amazing combination of food, fun and music - all to benefit All Children's Hospital. The Bill Edwards' Taste of Pinellas returns to Vinoy Park with a mix of the area's best restaurants, national music acts, children's fun area, fireworks, and lots of family-friendly activities.
For the first time, the Kids Zone will offer FREE fun and games, including face painting, arts and crafts, a rock climbing wall, fun with Radio Disney, and a special appearance by the Tampa Bay Rays’ Raymond, on Saturday afternoon.
Here's everything else you need to know:
Friday, May 5 at 5 p.m.; Saturday, May 6 at 3 p.m.; Sunday, May 7 at 12 p.m.
A variety of ticket options will allow attendees to customize their experience. General admission, VIP and weekend tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster. Tickets are also available for purchase at The Mahaffey box office, by visiting www.themahaffey.com or call (800) 745-3000.
- General Admission: Friday and Saturday - $20 (Advance) $25 (Day of Event); Sunday – $15 (Advance) $20 (Day of Event)
- VIP Seating provides prime seating, food, beer and wine, and private portable bathrooms. Tickets are $150 per person, per day or $300 for the weekend. (Limited seating – available for advance purchase until Friday, May 4 at 12:00pm)
- Weekend Ticket (all three days): $45 (Available for advance purchase only)
- Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult
- Military discounts available
Patrons can also purchase sheets of tickets to sample the various foods and beverages all weekend.
No dogs or coolers are allowed inside the event.
Kids and families can enjoy the Kids Zone inside A Taste of Pinellas at Vinoy Park, which will be open Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6. The Kids Zone includes face painting, a rock climbing wall, arts and crafts, Radio Disney, and interactive health and safety activities from All Children’s Hospital. This year, the Kids Zone will be “free access” from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. and the carousel will also be free of charge during this time. All exhibits and attractions will be open from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Radio Disney will take center stage with music, games, contests and tons of prizes. Kids will play game show style trivia contests, lip sync to their favorite music, challenge their parents to a hula- hoop or crazy relay race, and more. Kids will also have an opportunity to win Disney themed prizes from Tampa Bay’s Radio Disney AM 1380.
Also featured in the Kid Zone are the Tampa Bay Rays with special appearances by Raymond providing interactive games, prizes and give a ways, All Children’s Fit4Allkids program will offer sample tasting and recipe suggestions, while Great Explorations Children’s Museum brings fun-filled interactive games and crafts for the whole family.
Engaging activities will offer fun, prizes and education for children as they learn about bike and pedestrian safety, water safety, medical careers and asthma care. Kids will also get a chance to tour an All Children’s emergency transport vehicle.
Each participating restaurant prepares and sells tastes of their most popular dishes. Diners purchase sheets of tickets to spend at booths for tastes. This year, over 40 restaurants through out the Tampa Bay Area will whip up their delicious delicacies for festival attendees.

The Beer Garden at A Taste of Pinellas will offer beer aficionados a sampling of specialty and imported beers including Corona and Corona Light, Redhook, Rolling Rock, Shock Top, and Land Shark.
There will be a FREE shuttle service available at the following pick-up/drop-off locations:
- Bayshore Drive & 5th Ave. South
- 4th Ave. South & 1st Street
- 2nd Ave. South & 1st Street
- 1st Ave. North & 1st Street
- 3rd Ave. North & 1st Street
Shuttles will pick up and return passengers at designated stops every 10 minutes from 4:30 p.m. - 11 p.m. on Friday, May 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 5; and from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 6. There will be shuttle buses available to accommodate physically challenged individuals.
