Naturemania camp offers unique bird experience for kids

Largo, Florida -- Does your child enjoy nature, animals and love the outdoors? The City of Largo's McGough Nature Park is offering Naturemania, a unique summer camp jam-packed with nature related activities for children who have completed grades 1-5.

Each week, campers will hike on trails, hear from guest speakers, explore the nature park, head to the swimming pool and make arts and crafts.

Weekly themes include Birds and Bugs, Navigating Nature, Farm Week, Wildlife Detective and more. Naturemania begins June 10 and runs Monday-Friday, from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. After care is available from 4 - 6 p.m. for an additional fee.

The McGough Nature Park Center is home to four owls and one red-shouldered hawk. Each bird is classified as non-releasable, having permanent injuries that prevent survival in the wild. Your child will have the opportunity to meet friends like, Eleanor, our resident Great Horned Owl.

Parents can register children for one week or for the entire summer. Summer camps are filling fast, so register today. McGough Nature Park is located at 11901 146th St N. Off of Walsingham Road.
