Local Toastmasters contest winners advance to next level

Dunedin, Florida -- Donoghue-Dunedin Toastmasters members Amanda Hunt of Dunedin and Debra Lombardozzi of Tarpon Springs won first-place for Best Humorous Speaker and Best Evaluation respectively at the Club’s Humorous Speech & Evaluation Contest. The two Club-level winners advance to the Area-level competition on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at the Clearwater Main Library. The Area-level competition is open to the public.

Amanda Hunt was one of six speakers competing in the Humorous Speech portion of the Club-level contest. Competing speakers were required to create and deliver a substantially original five- to seven-minute humorous speech. Debra Lombardozzi was one of three speech evaluators competing in the Evaluation portion of the contest.

During the next round of competition, the two first-place winners from Donoghue-Dunedin Toastmasters will compete against the winners from other Area 21 Toastmasters Clubs. All of the contestants are striving to work their way through Area- and Division-level contests and earn the chance to compete at the Toastmasters District 48 conference in Bradenton, FL, in November.
