CLEARWATER, Florida - Several branches of the Clearwater Public Library System are planning safe Halloween events for youngsters and families during the month of October. The lineup includes:

@ the COUNTRYSIDE LIBRARY, 2741 S.R. 580

Halloween Crafts with Miss Jill: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 3:30 pm. - 4:30 pm. Make a scary craft with Miss Jill. Halloween costumes are encouraged. Recommended for youth.

@ the EAST BRANCH LIBRARY, 2251 Drew St.

Halloween and Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos): Saturday, Oct. 26, 2 p.m. The whole family can observe these two holidays with books, music and crafts the whole family will enjoy. Halloween costumes encouraged.

Babies and Toddlers Halloween Party: Thursday, Oct. 31, 11 a.m. A special Halloween-themed 'Mother Goose on the Loose' program, including finger plays, stories, music, bubbles, and more. Bring your little one dressed in costume for a special Halloween costume parade through the library.

Magic Tree House 'Spirited' Party: Friday, Oct. 25, 2:30 p.m. Youth are invited to explore the Magic Tree House book series including: Mummies in the Morning, Ghost Town at Sundown, Haunted Castle on Hallow's Eve, and A Good Night for Ghosts. Halloween costumes encouraged. Registration required.

Costume Parade: Sunday, Oct. 28, 3:30 p.m. Following the Magic Tree House party, crafts, activities and Trick-or-Treating in costume in the library.
