Pinellas County, Florida -- The Pinellas County Farm Bureau will sponsor a Farm City Day Celebration at Pinellas County’s Heritage Village.

This is the kickoff event for Farm City Week, celebrated nationally each year during the week leading up to Thanksgiving. It was created to educate citizens about agriculture and to enhance links between rural and urban dwellers.

Heritage Village presents third Speaking of History lecture

Pinellas County, Florida -- As part of the Speaking of History lecture series, educator, archivist and public historian Erin Mahaney will present The Literature of Florida’s Environment on Sunday, Nov. 17. The lecture will be held at 2 p.m. in the Pinellas Room at Heritage Village.

Mahaney recently worked on an important project while serving as archivist in the Arthur Vining Davis Library at the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota. She examined various historical sources that document the work of naturalists, conservationists, preservationists and environmentalists.

Boat parade scheduled for December 14th

Boat parade scheduled for December 14th

Clearwater Beach, Florida -- The annual holiday boat parade will be held December 14th.

Decorated boats should assemble in the Mandalay Channel and head to Coachman Park at 6:30 p.m. The parade will work its way under the Memorial Causeway Bridge to the Yacht Clubs judging stand.

Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated boats.

Participants must register by December 7th.

The event is sponsored by the Island Estates Yacht Club and is held in memory of club members who died during the year.
