Zumba Workshop

Experience fitness and fun as a family. Move to music. Wear comfortable clothes, tennis shoes, and bring a water bottle. Rhythm and coordination not required. To register, call (727) 462-6025; same day registrations welcome. Free.

St. Anthony's receives SCPC Heart Failure Accreditation

St. Petersburg, FL -- St. Anthony's Hospital has received full Heart Failure Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC). 

The international not-for-profit organization focuses on transforming cardiovascular care. St. Anthony's Hospital is the only hospital in Pinellas County awarded the accreditation. Heart failure is a leading cause of death in the United States, impacting about five million people.

Bayfront Medical Center launches partnership

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Bayfront Medical Center will be launching its new partnership with Health Management Associates, in clinical and academic affiliation with Shands HealthCare, Monday, April 1.

 St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster is expected to make a special proclamation to honor the day, and it will be the public's first opportunity to hear from Bayfront's new Chief Executive Officer, Kathryn Gillette.

They will also announce other new hospital leaders and will be unveiling a new visual element.

Pinellas Park, Florida-- The public is invited to attend this year's Easter Heath Fitness & Business Expo.

This event will happen at the Knights of Columbus Hall on March 29 - 31, with proceeds going to the Make A Wish Foundation.

Admission is just $2.50 for adults and $2 for children.

Take part in a special raffle with prizes given away each half hour.

Food will be available for purchase from Tim's BBQ.

Florida Hospital offers "A Free Dinner with the Docs"

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Florida Hospital North Pinellas is giving you the chance to "ask the experts"--even have a "free dinner with the docs."

The event is part of the hospital's Healthy Happenings program and will give attendees an educational evening to visit local vendors and organizations specializing in health and wellness, get free blood pressure, foot and ankle screenings and even enjoy dinner with the physician of their choice.  There were also be a question and answer panel discussion led by seven local doctors.

"United States of Autism" film coming to Oldsmar

Oldsmar, Florida-- It's a film that covers 11,000 miles and five different languages. Much of its budget came from a Pepsi Refresh grant and donations on crowdfunding site Kickstarter. Now, "The United States of Autism" is coming to Oldsmar.

"If ever there were a story that embodies the heart of America, it’s the story found in families and individuals affected by autism," the film's Kickstarter page says. "What drives them? Who are these people and how are they changing their communities?"
