Library offers free meditation classes

Pinellas Park, Florida -- The Pinellas Park Library invites adults to start the year off right with free meditation classes.

The classes will take place inside the meeting room on Saturdays beginning on Jan. 26 and running through March 16.

Each class runs from 10 a.m. till 12:30 p.m.

The 8-week program includes the film "How the Non-Duality Works" and is based on the books, "Your Head in the Tiger's Mouth" and "Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle.

Classes are limited to 60 students.

Pinellas County has announced its Health Department's Clearwater center will reopen to serve the community on Monday, Jan. 28.

It had been closed for renovations since late July.

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Low-Income Pool (LIP) Primary Care Clinic at the Pinellas County Health Department is now offering health services to uninsured, low-income children and adults on a sliding-fee scale at its Mid-County center location. 

LIP is funded by the State of Florida to "ensure continued government support for the provision of health care services to Medicaid, underinsured and uninsured populations."

This area should be considered a potential health risk to swimmers.

St. Pete Beach -- Coming soon to the gym at the city’s community center: two new treadmills and two new recumbent bicycles.

The city commission approved spending just over $16,000 for two new Precor treadmills and two new recumbent bicycles, all commercial-grade equipment rather than treadmills and bikes designed for home use.
