The Centre, formerly the Palm Harbor Community Activity Center, will hold its annual "Young at Heart Senior Fun Fest" on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., at 1500 - 16th St. in Palm Harbor.

The event will feature exhibits by companies offering products and services for seniors, free health screenings, bingo, door prizes and free pneumonia and flu shots (with proper insurance). There is no charge for admission or parking.

Annual water system maintenance program set to begin

Pinellas County, Florida-- The method of water treatment utilized by Pinellas County and its wholesale customers will be temporarily modified between September 4 and October 5, 2012. 

This short-term change from chloramine to chlorine disinfection is a routine maintenance measure designed to optimize water quality. 

The maintenance program was originally scheduled to begin August 27, but is being delayed until the Republican National Convention is over.

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- The West Coast Medical Group Surgical Institute, a service of Florida Hospital North Pinellas, is planning a special open house at its facility.

The open house will be Monday, Aug. 20, from 5 - 7 p.m., at 1501 S. Pinellas Avenue, Suite T.

The Institute opened in January, as a way to provide innovative services to cancer patients.

According to a press release, Monday's open house will give people the chance to meet the Institute's medical team and learn more about cutting-edge surgical procedures.

The Tarpon Springs Parks and Recreation Department is offering a yoga class on Sunset Beach this Saturday, Aug. 18 from 9 - 10 a.m.

The yoga class will help you improve posture while increasing strength, flexibility, endurance, mental focus and overall balance.

The cost is just $10.00 per class.
