Largo, Florida -- Are you looking for a new way to mix up your workouts? Or do you want to get excited about living a healthy lifestyle? Then, you should join us at Highland Recreation Complex on Saturday, Aug. 25 for Fit-A-Thon.

Highland Recreation fitness instructors and staff will be demonstrating their classes as you sweat the day away, receive free goodies, receive new healthy recipes, enjoy a free chair massage, learn stress reduction tips and more.

Classes run from 9 - 11 a.m.

Clearwater, Florida -- Morton Plant Mease is recognizing Prostate Cancer Awareness Month with free prostate screenings and health seminars throughout the month of September.

Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer found in American men, and one out of every six males will be diagnosed with the disease during his lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society.

Pinellas Park, Florida -- The public is invited to get a check up on how to live healthy lives. The Pinellas Park Health Fair will take place at the St Petersburg College Caruth Education Center on Saturday, Aug. 11.

The free event will run from 9 a.m. till 2:30 p.m. where you can get free back to school physicals, sports participation exams, hearing screenings, vision screenings and immunizations. For immunizations please bring the child's current immunization card.

Precautionary Boil Water Notice cancelled

Oldsmar, Florida-- The City of Oldsmar announced the Precautionary Boil Water Notice, originally issued on July 21, has been cancelled.  

The City issued the notice after an 8" pipe broke, and resulted in a loss of pressure to all of the water customers, said Oldsmar representatives in a recent release. 

Because water quality is maintained through water movement, customers were advised to boil water until good water quality could be confirmed through an FDEP-approved plan.

The Pinellas County Health Department has issued a beach advisory for the water at the following beaches, based on the marine water bacterial indicator recommended by the EPA:

Pinellas Co. Health Department: Clearwater location to close temporarily

 

Clearwater, Florida-- The Pinellas County Health Department's Clearwater center will close for renovations on Wednesday, July 25.

The center at 310 N. Myrtle Ave. has the second-highest client volume among the six locations that the health department serves. The renovations will make the building more accessible to all clients and will upgrade the building's systems.

No services will be provided at the Clearwater center during renovations.
