Palm Harbor, Florida -- This Sunday come to the farmer's market on Sunday, August 18. 

The farmer's market at Palm Harbor is an open market featureing local poduce, baked goods, cheeses, live music and much more. 

The market is located at Pop Stansell Park at 797 Florida Avenue on the corner of 8th and Florida Avenue. 

Vendor fees support the North Pinellas Historical Museum.

Pinellas County, Florida -- Under a new federal program, 58 schools in Pinellas County will offer lunch at no charge to all students beginning this school year.

This free event will take place at the St Petersburg College Caruth Education Center on Saturday, August 10th beginning at 9 a.m.

New Employee Health and Wellness Center to open on Monday

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Mayor Bill Foster will register to be the first patient at the city's new Employee Health and Wellness Center on Monday, August 5. 

The St. Petersburg Employee Health and Wellness Center is intended to provide convenient access to a health care provider as well as to encourage healthier lifestyles. Most services such as office visits, treatment and prescription medications provided at the center are at no cost to the employee.

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Getting healthy can be a family affair at the annual Community Health Fair.

The health fair will offer free school and sports screenings for children, as well as adult health screenings. There will also be health and wellness information and a free "healthy meal".

The health fair will be held at the Union Academy Family Center, 401 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Pinellas County, Florida -- Heavy rains in June and July have created ideal conditions for a mosquito population boom. Technicians responding to mosquito calls have noted that many homes have items or areas that contain standing water – the ideal breeding condition for mosquitoes – and are significantly contributing to the mosquito problem. 

Pinellas County Mosquito Control asks all citizens to do their part to reduce the mosquito population. Remember that mosquitoes only need 1/4 to 1/2 inch of standing water for the larvae to survive. Some simple suggestions are to:

Pinellas County, Florida -- When Pinellas schools reopen on Aug. 19, students between the ages of 4 and 18 can return to the classroom with a big smile, courtesy of the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County's Back to School dental event on Friday, August 2.

Three DOH-Pinellas dental offices will offer exams and X-rays at no cost to families that day.
