Largo Leaps Past Countryside 28-7

In week three of high school play it was a battle of two Pinellas County powers, as the Countryside Cougars hosted the Largo Packers.  But unlike last week, when Countryside ran all over East Lake, the Cougars seemed to be lacking on offense.  The game was simply dominated by Largo, and it showed starting on the first score of the night, which was a safety by Largo.

Later in the first Largo kept things rolling with a ten yard scamper from Jarvis Stewart, to make it 9-0.

St. Petersburg, Fla. -- John Vigue knows the tradition of St. Pete Catholic baseball.  All the way back to when the school was Bishop Barry.

That's when his father, James Vigue, led Bishop Barry to three state tournaments in in four years, including the 1972 state championship.

In just four years, the younger Vigue has turned around a program that struggled since his dad finished coaching there.  This is just the third playoff appearance for the Barons since 1994.

Nelson Agholor took the microphone and had the national stage on ESPN and in coaches offices at Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Southern Cal.

In this crazy era of recruiting and Twitter, Agholor kept quiet his college choice.  Then he pulled a USC hat from below the table and announced his intention to play for the Trojans.

"I always loved Southern Cal," Agholor said. "and I decided I wanted my dream to come true and be a Trojan."
