Get free heart screenings for Heart Health Month | News
St. Petersburg, FL - As part of Heart Health Awareness Month, Morton Plant Mease is hosting heart health screenings across the Bay area. The events help to raise awareness about heart disease and maintain cardiovascular health.
Screenings include: blood pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI), cholesterol and glucose. At the events there will also be information on diabetes, sleep services and cardiac rehab. Lectures will also take place on topics from "Knowing Your Numbers" to "What to Look for In a Heart Hospital" to "Achieving and Maintaining Cardiovascular Health."
There will be a free Heart Health Fair at the Aging Well center at The Long Center at 1501 N. Belcher Road in Clearwater on Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to Noon. Seminars will take place from Noon until 2 p.m.
Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, Bekesh Education and Conference Center will host another fair. It's at 6600 Madison St. in New Port Richey on Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Seminars will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
St. Anthony's Outpatient Center at 900 Carillon Parkway off of Ulmerton Road in St. Petersburg will host a free heart health fair on Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. until Noon. Lectures will begin at Noon.
On Feb. 16, St. Anthony's Hospital in downtown St. Petersburg at 1200 Seventh Ave. N will host a heart health fair and lecture as well.

You will answer a few health-related questions and it will give you an idea if you are at low risk or high risk for heart disease. It's a good start to help you understand your risk factors for heart disease and whether it's time to see your doctor.
