ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (AP) - Authorities say a Clearwater woman drowned at Fort De Soto Park in St. Petersburg.

The Tampa Bay Times reports 56-year-old Michelle Dresser had been floating and paddling in shallow water near a picnic area Sunday morning when a lifeguard noticed she was face down.

Dresser had been at the park with friends.

Deputies say CPR was performed at the scene, but Dresser was unresponsive. She was taken to Bayfront Medical Center shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says there is no evidence of foul play. The medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy.
