Cops: Alcohol may have been factor in bike fatality

Clearwater, FL-- Public Safety officials have released that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in last night's vehicle vs. bicycle fatality

10 News reported Thursday night that the bicyclist, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene after 54-year-old Milton Smallwood struck him from behind with his 1994 Buick.

Officials initially withheld the bicyclist's information, though they have since identified him as 57-year-old Henry Rackard.

Updated reports say Rackard was attempting to cross the street, instead of just riding along the curb, as originally reported.

The investigation continues.
