Oldsmar City Council Candidate Forum

Oldsmar, Florida -- The City of Oldsmar and the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce are hosting a Candidate Forum on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, 101 State St W. in Oldsmar.

Three candidates have qualified to run for the single available city council seat in the March 2013 election.  All are political newcomers.  They include long term Oldsmar residents and business owners Suda Yantiss and Daniel Saracki and Oldsmar newcomer Gabby Mc Gee.

The forum will be a structured event conducted by the North Pinellas League of Women Voters. The purpose is to introduce the candidates to the public and to learn additional details regarding their decision to run for office as well as their goals for the city.  There will be time for questions from the audience.

Current council member Doug Bevis is vacating this position and was elected the incoming Mayor without opposition. Council members Janice Miller and Linda Norris also retained their city council positions without opposition. Vice Mayor Jerry Beverland’s term is still current. The incoming council will be seated at the March 5, 2013 City Council meeting.

This event is open to the public.  No reservations are needed.  For additional information visit the chamber’s calendar of community events at www.utchamber.com or call the chamber at 813 855-4233.
