Tarpon Springs' show choir heads to national compeition

Tarpon Springs, Florida -- The Tarpon Springs High show choir is heading to Nashville, Tennessee and hopes to come home as the best group in the country.

The school's two choral groups--Syndicated Sound and Sophisticated Ladies--earned the right to compete at the Show Choir Nationals on stage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Sophisticated Ladies--a smaller girls group--will open the competition in the women's division on Thursday evening and the full choir, Syndicated Sound, will perform Friday morning.

The Tarpon High show choir is one of only ten groups from across the country to make it to the Show Choirs Nationals and the only school from Florida.

Syndicated Sound is planning an environmentally-themed show, featuring songs like Michael Jackson's "Earth Song" and "Beautiful Lie" from Bruno Mars.
