Commuters beware, CSX working on railroad crossings creating detours

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Drivers, a head's up on a detour on a major thoroughfare that could impact your commute. Starting Monday, an area around 22nd Ave. North west of I-275 will be shut down while CSX begins repairing two railroad crossings.

According to city officials, 25th St. N. just south of 22nd Ave. N. and 29th St. N. between 21st and 22nd Aves. N. will close while crews begin replacing two spur line crossings. Work on this phase of the project is expected to be completed by June 13.

Then, the following week, starting Monday, June 17, crews will begin replacing worn-out crossings on 22nd Ave. N. just west of the interstate. This project is expected to wrap up on June 20.

You'll find traffic detours at 28th and 16th Streets for the projects.
