New design renderings for The Lens released

St. Petersburg, Florida -- The architect of the hotly debated "Lens" design released nine updated renderings of some of the latest design refinements for possible new pier.

On June 26, Mayor Bill Foster assembled a task force, called the 828 Alliance, consisting of Lens supporters and opponents, downtown organizations, members of the city's marine science community and others. The alliance is based on two basic premises: St. Petersburg is passionate in the future of the St. Petersburg waterfront and that NOT having a Pier in the near future of the city is NOT an option.

On Wednesday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m., councilmember Leslie Curran will hold a public information session to clarify some of the issues associated with The Lens design of the new St. Pete Pier. The session will take place in The Garden Room at Sunken Gardens.
