Pipeline repair project begins Monday

Sand Key, Florida -- The city has scheduled repairs on a sewer pipeline prone to failure along Gulf Boulevard from the Shoppes at Sand Key to the Coast Guard Station.

Beginning Monday, October 7, workers will replace the existing sanitary sewer pipeline fittings and restrained joints and build a temporary above-ground bypass to provide uninterrupted sewer service during construction.

Traffic will be routed around the construction, and two way traffic will be maintained.  Some temporary lane closures will be required, the city said.

The work is expected to be completed by January 8th.
