Pinellas County wants individuals to turn themselves in next Saturday

Pinellas County, Florida -- On Saturday, February 22, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will coordinate Operation Safe Surrender and ask people with warrants to turn themselves in to law enforcement.

Operation Safe Surrender is an opportunity for individuals with non-violent, misdemeanor warrants to turn themselves in and have their warrants resolved in a safe environment.

This is NOT an amnesty program, however, those individuals who turn themselves in may receive favorable considerations such as reduced fines, probation requirements or a new court date as an alternative to incarceration.

The program allows wanted individuals to take responsibility for their actions, stop running from the law and clear their outstanding warrants.

Individuals should arrive with a valid photo ID. No weapons or children are allowed.
