Long Center launches SilverSneakers water aerobics class | News
CLEARWATER, Fla. - The City of Clearwater's Long Center and Aging Well Center, 1501 N. Belcher Rd., is expanding its programming for older adults with a new water aerobics class that will be added to the list of SilverSneakers®-certified classes later this month.
Beginning Oct. 12, the new group exercise class, SilverSplash®, will offer older adults a variety of non-impact water exercises to help them increase agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. Classes will be held at the Long Center indoor aquatics facility.
The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program offers physical activity, health education, and social events and is included as an option through many healthcare providers nationwide.
Other SilverSneakers® class offerings at the Long Center and Aging Well Center, the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center and the Countryside Recreation Center, include the MSROM (Muscle Strength and Range of Movement) and Cardio Circuit. Specially trained staff offer expert instruction and support for students.
