New learning tools added to Clearwater Library Databases

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Clearwater Public Library System has added two powerful learning tools to its stable of databases. The databases include Learning Express and Mango Languages.

Library patrons can access the programs for free with their library cards, a username, password and PIN number. The programs are available both from computers at the library branches or with remote access from home computers.

Learning Express is an interactive skill-building program that contains thousands of lessons and study guides for courses and standardized tests from public school through technical and advanced career subjects.

Included are online preparatory materials for SAT, GMAT, GED, MCAT and other tests, tutorials for a wide variety of computer software programs, online classes for U.S. Citizenship, civil service, military, electrical, firefighter, and real estate, among many others. Job search and career building skill courses are also available.

Mango Languages offers 100 interactive spoken and written lessons in any of 21 foreign languages and 15 ESL languages. Keyboard shortcuts help users advance through lessons, and Main Lessons or shorter Vocabulary and Phrasebook Reviews can help with refreshers in pronunciation and syntax. Grammar and culture notes also appear throughout the lessons that add to understanding of idioms.

For more information on these and other databases at the library, please call (727) 562-4970 or visit www.myclearwater.com/cpl.
