Pinellas Co. marine units crack down on boaters

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida -- Marine units with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office are cracking down on boaters violating the laws of the waterways.

"There is signage out there to tell you when you are approaching a zone and when you are in it," said Sgt. Brad Millican.

He watches year after year as boaters violate wake zones, speed limit laws, and intoxication.

Boy travels from England to swim with Winter the dolphin

Clearwater, Florida -- An 8-year-old boy who lost his legs got the chance to use his fins to swim with Winter the dolphin. 

8-year old Cieran Kelso loves the water like most kids, but he never imagined his love for swimming would bring him to Clearwater to swim with Winter the dolphin. 

Cieran shares a unique bond with Winter, Cieran also uses prosthetic flippers to swim.

Coast Guard rescues 4 near Clearwater Pass

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Four people were rescued by the Coast Guard after their 23-foot recreational boat capsized eight miles west of Clearwater Pass, Sunday.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating a shooting that put a woman in the hospital with serious injuries. 

According to reports, Rubi Rosado went with a group of men, including her boyfriend, to a home on 14th Street North to continue an ongoing dispute with the occupants of the home. 

In St. Petersburg mayor's race, money will be key

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Campaign fundraising in the mayoral race between Bill Foster and Rick Kriseman may play a big part in determining who will win in November. 

According to the Tampa Bay Times, fewer than 900 votes separated the two candidates in Tuesday's primary. Both candidates agree that raising money is needed to run a successful campaign and they are targeting their respective support groups as election day looms closer.
