Sea otter pup found in 10 News parking lot

St. Petersburg, Florida-- It was quite the surprise Friday at the 10 News station when we came across a sea otter pup, all by his lonesome in the parking lot!

Worried that the young otter was without his family, 10 News called the Clearwater Marine Aquarium for advice.

FL-13 candidates hold final debate

Tampa, Florida-- As the election for the late C.W. Bill Young's Congressional seat fast approaches, the three competing candidates held their final debate in Tampa Friday afternoon.

Shorter than others, the debate lasted around 30 minutes, during which Republican David Jolly, Democrat Alex Sink and Libertarin Lucas Overby each addressed a variety of topics- including taxes, Obamacare, and social security, and even campaign contributions. 

Pinellas burglar arrested for attacking K-9 deputy

Pinellas County, Florida -- While trying to stop a house burglary a deputy and his K-9 partner were both attacked by the suspect.

Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a home on Belcher Road in Dunedin on Friday morning. Upon arrival, deputies found Ryan Packer in a home which he had just broken into by smashing the window. Deputies ordered Packer to come outside but he refused so the home through the front door with the assistance of the homeowner.

Florida Orchestra to play live to Charlie Chaplin film

St. Petersburg, Florida -- This weekend, Feb. 28 - March 1, The Florida Orchestra will host a special concert, "Charlie Chaplin: The Gold Rush."

The orchestra concerts celebrate the 100th anniversary of Chaplin's famous vagrant character Little Tramp, which debuted in February 1914.

An ensemble from the orchestra will play a live soundtrack to Chaplin's film Fri., Feb. 28 at the Tampa Theatre and Sat., March 1 at the Palladium in St. Petersburg. Both shows are at 8 p.m.

St. Pete still not issuing red light camera refunds

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida - City staff told city council during a marathon workshop Thursday that it had extended a number of yellow lights that fell below the state's minimums. But there's still no indication drivers who got red light camera tickets because of the short yellows will ever receive refunds.

Mayor Rick Kriseman, city council, red light camera (RLC) supporters, as well as opponents met for more than two-and-a-half hours Thursday afternoon to discuss the future of the technology in the city.

Water restrictions change for Pinellas County Utilities customers

Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County water restrictions will change for Pinellas County Utilities customers effective Saturday, March 1.

These new changes will allow for lawn irrigation to return to two days per week according to the seasonal guidelines of a Phase II Severe Water Shortage Order previously issued by the Southwest Florida Water Management District's Governing Board.
