Crew from Tarpon Springs detained in Honduras


Tarpon Springs, Florida – Six members of a salvage crew out of Tarpon Springs have been jailed in Honduras for nearly a month on gun smuggling charges

The men were set sail to Honduras last month to salvage mahogany logs from a river in the country. When they arrived on May 5, authorities in the port of Puerto Lempira boarded their vessel, the Aqua Quest, a found several weapons, including an AK-47.

The missing boater is 63-year-old Enrique Rodriguez.

He is from Avon Park.

On Saturday afternoon he and his three friends went fishing near Egmont Key. At 2:00am their boat capsized. Only Rodriquez's friends survived. Rodriguez could not swim.

Man shot at St. Petersburg apartment complex


St. Petersburg, Florida -- More than 12 police cars filled the parking lot at the Gateway Apartments in St. Petersburg after a man was shot and killed.

When police arrived at the apartment complex, they found the body of a 25-year-old man lying outside. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.
