Deadline approaching for Mayor's Youth Showcase

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Do you know a Pinellas County teen who's a go-getter and could use a little cash? Only two weeks remain to submit nominations in this year's Mayor's Youth Showcase of Achievement for outstanding middle and high school Pinellas County. More than $40,000 in cash and prizes will be handed out in ten categories at the Mahaffey Theater on May 22, 2013, at 7 p.m. All Pinellas County middle and high school students are eligible.

Officer of the year

Officer of the year

St. Petersburg, Florida -- A St. Petersburg Police Department's Undercover Narcotics Detective has been selected as the 2012 "Officer of the Year." This is an annual award sponsored by the Exchange Club of St. Petersburg and the Charles A. Patterson and Odette W. Patterson Charitable Trust. 

This year marks the 49th presentation of this annual award.

Mayor Bill Foster and Chief of Police Charles "Chuck" Harmon will be on hand at the ceremony luncheon to honor the undercover detective Thursday March 28.

Pinellas Park, Florida-- Don't let your daughter have the Spring Break Blues.

Girls Inc of Pinellas is hosting the Chess Challenge during their spring break camp.

The camp is open to all girls ages 5 - 17 and will run from March 25th thru 29th.

Hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. till 6 p.m.

No prior experience is necessary to participate.
