Pinellas Park, Florida-- The Pinellas Park Library will be opening their doors for a new round of Adult Book Discussions.

These free events will take place on the 3rd Thursday of each month beginning at 2 p.m.

The next discussion will take place on September 19th, when the group will focus on Shanghai Girls by Lisa See.

People join book clubs for various reasons.

Clearwater main library to host teen manga club

Clearwater, Florida -- The Clearwater Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave., will be hosting a teen Manga Club this fall.

Manga, originally a reading genre that encompassed a wide variety of popular literary materials in Japan, has since been adopted in the U.S. and other countries as a distinctive style of cartooning for graphic novels or comics.

Palm Harbor, Florida -- The east section of Wall Springs Park in Palm Harbor is now open. The park was closed yesterday, Sept. 11, due to a fire at the observation tower. The section on the west side will remain closed at the bridge.

Gulfport, Florida -- Despite hope that the state would have a full necropsy report by the end of August, Gulfport city manager Jim O'Reilly told the Gabber that the city had yet to receive any test results that could point towards a culprit in the as-of-yet-unsolved duck deaths on the dead ducks discovered at Tomlinson Park.
