Radio show features steps to buying a home

Pinellas County, Florida -- Those who are thinking about buying a home and don’t know where to start will not want to miss “Understanding the Home Buying Process” on Thursday, Feb. 6, on There’s No Place Like Home, the radio show sponsored by the Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County.

The featured guest is Karmen Lemberg, program administrator for the Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County. Lemberg will discuss the steps to make buying a home easier.

Pollack Shores builds luxury apartments in Largo

Largo, Florida -- Pollack Shores Real Estate Group broke ground on a new luxury apartment community in Largo.

Gateway North will have 342 one, two- and three-bedroom apartments on 16.25 acres. Like many Pollack Shores projects, it is within walking distance of stores - including the soon-to-be-completed Wal-Mart Supercenter - restaurants and public transportation.

Reclaimed water seasonal restrictions in place starting October 1

Pinellas County, Florida -- Pinellas County reclaimed water seasonal restrictions will begin Tuesday, Oct. 1. These restrictions limit reclaimed water irrigation during authorized hours to three days per week based on house number.

The mandatory seasonal restrictions in accordance with Pinellas County Code 82-3 state:

Pinellas County, Florida -- The holiday season is just around the corner and Pinellas County can help deck the halls with the First-Time Homebuyer Program, available to those who have never owned a home, have not owned a home in the last three years or are veterans.

The rate for the Home Key 1st Mortgage is currently at 3.75 percent and is available to qualified first-time homebuyers in Pinellas, Pasco and Polk counties. If you need help with down payment and/or closing costs, the Home Key Plus 2nd Mortgage can help with up to $8,000.

Pinellas County, Florida -- For those thinking about buying a home but unsure of where to start, a free homebuyer education workshop is a good place to begin.

Attendees will learn the basics of the home buying process, including helpful resource information on down payment assistance and homes for sale. The workshop is especially helpful for those who are working with a lender and need a homebuyer education class certificate or have owned a home before and are considering a new purchase.

Proposed Changes to Coral Reef on St. Pete Beach
