Space sought for marketing, tourism class

Clearwater Beach, Florida -- Bay area resident Philippe Beau is starting a program this fall for 15 interns to come to the Clearwater Beach area to study marketing and tourism and is looking for classroom space.

According to Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce, Beau needs a space where he can work with the interns a few hours a day.

Clearwater Beach, Florida -- The changing face of Clearwater Beach is changing once again.

Demolition has begun on a section of Shephard's Beach Resort on South Gulfview Boulevard, to make way for a new 90-room hotel tower, larger pool and additional parking.

The resort will stay open during the construction, which should be completed in a year.

Village Post Office opens on the North Beach

Clearwater Beach, Florida -- Residents mourning the closing of the beach post office last year can celebrate the grand opening of a new office on the north beach this week.

The first Village Post Office in the Tampa Bay area will be in the Circle Food Mart convenience store at 601 Mandalay Avenue, at the corner of Bay Esplanade.

The official grand opening will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m.

It had been closed for renovations since late July.

Largo, Florida -- Pinch A Penny has announced the completion of the first phase of their recent expansion to the City of Largo and is now into its second phase.

After an extensive search, the nation's largest franchised retail pool, patio and spa company bought the land in Largo from the Pinellas County Economic Development Authority (EDA) for $4.6 million with proceeds from the land sale going to Pinellas County's Capital Improvement Program, Public Works allocation.
