Council moves forward on Britt's Beachwalk alcohol sales

Council moves forward on Britt's Beachwalk alcohol sales

Clearwater, Florida -- Britt's Island Grill is one step closer to selling alcoholic beverages at its outdoor patio on the Beachwalk.

The city council voted unanimously on first reading Wednesday night to let Britts sell beer and alcohol on their front patio. The change restricts the sales to the east side of the Beachwalk only.

The measure must pass a second reading before the change can take effect.

Britt's Island Grill requested the change because current code prohibits alcohol sales on the public right-of-way.
