Clearwater Beach, Florida - A source tells 10 News the Clearwater Beach Hooters restaurant will open for business on Monday, June 4.

A sneak preview is set for Friday, June 1.

Details of the opening are expected to be announced on Friday.

The beach Hooters is located at Mandalay Avenue and the Roundabout.

Clearwater, Florida -- A new restaurant is coming to the Gulf to Bay plaza in Clearwater and it's hosting a fundraising event this weekend to celebrate.

Sweet Tomatoes Express is partnering with the American Red Cross Tampa Bay Chapter on May 25 and 26 to host a preview fundraising event for patrons.

For a $5 donation, guests can enjoy a full Sweet Tomatoes Express meal complete with entree salad with one premium salad topper, choice of soup and a fountain beverage. All proceeds will go to American Red Cross Tampa Bay Chapter.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Gather your friends and head out to downtown St. Pete Saturday for TBT's Beer and Food Truck Festival. 

The event, from 1 - 6 p.m., will feature 15 food trucks and over 20 breweries, along with live music and games.

Cost is $35 in advance or $40 at the door.

Customer finds fingernail in ice cream at Bay area buffet

PINELLAS PARK, Fla.- What began as an ordinary meal for Dawn Harris and her family ended with a surprise during dessert. Dawn says she found something most unexpected in her ice cream.

"I was eating it and all of a sudden I heard a crunch in my mouth," said Harris, who immediately spit the hard object out of her mouth. Turns out, the object that went crunch was a fake acrylic fingernail.

Harris says the incident happened at the newly opened Southern Style Buffet on 66th Street North in Pinellas Park.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Bikers can combine their love for the road and tour some of the city's best restaurants as part of the upcoming St. Pete Bike 'n Eat.

Registration is open now for the Saturday, May 12 event.

Cyclists will bike from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., stopping at four area restaurants.

They'll cap the night with pizza and cold brews at the Trek Bicycle Store on 4th Street North.

The event is limited to 100 cyclists--call (727) 498-8655.

Kick-off party Friday for Beach Restaurant Week

Clearwater Beach, Florida - A kick-off party Friday will mark the start of the 2nd Annual Clearwater Beach Restaurant Week.

The event will be held from 5 - 9 p.m. on the Beach Walk between the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa and Crabby Bill's Bar & Grill.

For a $20 admission fee, participants can sample food from the more than 30 participating restaurants. Wine tasting costs an extra $10.

Two live bands and a fireworks show follow at Pier 60.

The Restaurant Week runs through May 19. Some of the proceeds from the event go to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
